About the location
Khao Lak sits on Thailand’s Andaman coast, north of Phuket, and is often chosen by travellers who want a more peaceful kind of beach holiday. It has a gentler rhythm than some of Thailand’s better-known resort areas, with long sandy beaches, low-rise surroundings and a more understated feel overall. It is the sort of place where you settle in quickly, slow down naturally and begin to enjoy the simple pleasures of warm weather, sea views and easy evenings.
One of Khao Lak’s biggest strengths is how close it feels to nature. The coastline is backed by greenery, national parks are nearby, and the area acts as a jumping-off point for boat trips to some of Thailand’s best-known island and snorkelling spots. Even if you never leave your beach base, there is something very soothing about the setting - less rush, less noise, more space.
