South & Central America
South and Central America is a huge area, with a big range of countries, landscapes and attractions between Mexico in the north and the southern-most points of Chile. Mix in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador & Galapagos, Peru, and even Antarctica, and you have something for every travel taste with a New World touch of adventure guaranteed. At the start of winter, you could be skiing in the south, hiking in the centre or snorkelling in the north - just take your pick!
Suffice to say, the diversity of geography, wildlife, history and climate is wide enough to cover all bases. South America is ideal for lovers of the extreme, a land where you can stand on the longest mountain range on earth, take a chilly dip in the world’s highest lake or camp out in the world’s driest desert. If you’re a lover of more temperate areas, with dreamy stretches of sublime coastline then Central America will east satisfy your needs.
From the Pantanal in Brazil to the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador, Patagonia’s Valdes Peninsula and Torres del Paine National Park, the wildlife watching is second-to- none and Mexico’s Baja California is often dubbed the world’s best whale-watching destination. Both regions also boast developed tourism with luxury resorts, spa retreats and escorted tours aplenty for those who want relaxation to feature in their well-earned holiday!
The impressive Andes Mountain range provides hikers and climbers with everything they could ever want and there is world-class snorkelling and diving to be found, especially in the Galapagos. On the culture side of things there are many lively, cosmopolitan cities to experience, each with their own vibrant personality and passion, and a wealth of ancient historical sites including the unmissable Machu Picchu.

The great Amazon River winds through dense rainforest while the breath- taking Iguaçu Falls thunder into the river at the border of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Nobody ever arrives on time for social gatherings in Brazil - if you do you’ll have quite a wait!
PERU HOLIDAYS
There is so much to discover in spectacular Peru - the world’s highest lake and largest rainforest, hiking the Colca Canyon and Sacred Valley, indulgent spas and gorgeous beaches. And, of course, the breath-taking Machu Picchu and the ‘must do’ Inca Trail. There is so much to see in Peru that we’d recommend spending at least two weeks there. It’s also a good idea to take time to acclimatise to the altitude - locals swear by coca tea to help ease the symptoms.
