One of Ongar’s freshest High Street shops celebrates its 1st birthday. 7 September 2025 To mark this milestone we hosted an ‘Open House Week’ leading up to the 6th September as we celebrated Flitch Travel Ongar’s first birthday! I can scarcely believe that it’s now one year since we opened our second Flitch Travel shop in Ongar. Celebrations aplenty We were proud to host a special ‘Open House Week’ from Monday 1st – Saturday 6th September as we celebrated Flitch Travel Ongar’s first birthday in style! We were joined in-store by some of our fabulous tour operator partners - ready to chat all things travel. Main topics were Cruising, Honeymoons, Family Holidays, Luxury Escapes, and Tours & Bucket Lists. Saturday the 6th was our anniversary day, and we marked this with a good old party – with cakes, treats, and giveaways, plus bucketloads of travel inspiration! The story so far… Last September we moved in and completely revamped the previously known Barclays Bank building at 186 High Street, Ongar - or Chipping Ongar as it’s also known. The residents of Ongar and its surrounding villages have been wonderfully supportive and the warm-hearted welcome we received has been everything we hoped for, and more. Having been trading in Great Dunmow for over 25 years, it was a daunting prospect opening a second shop, especially in such a prominent position in the centre of town.
